26th of August ... beach and sun all the time ... but today nothing like that at all ;-). We're heading to the Mercantour ... around Tende ... .
Mercantour... enchanted name... for an enchanted place. The "Mercantour National Park is a jewel of preserved nature, just one hour away from the mediterranean sea. It has peaks reaching over 3000 m, many glacial lakes and six valleys, each with its unique character ...". We walked until the "Lac des grenouilles" "Frogs' lake" ... air and space ...
"Musée des Merveilles" "Museum of Wonders" ... Archeology and Ethnology ... so interesting ! 5000 years history of engravings explained and shown of the most beautiful ones in a very high technical museum.
Such a pity that we were not

24th of August ... Today : soft day ! Anyway it's so hot, that you can't do much ! So what is better than to go to the swimming pool ?! There's a very nice one outdoor in Levens. Let's just jump into the refreshing blue water ... and enjoy !!!

Castagniers is a very small hilltop village 20 km away from Nice. Charming, calm (hum, well definitely not in Omer's opinion ... to be waken up every day at 7:00 AM by the church steeple, just "over" our heads ... drove him quite a bit crazy ! :-) ). Our lodging was indeed an ancient rectory, yes ! Simple and clean : fridge, microwave, TV and laundry machine, that's fairly enough for us. Only is was very, very hot at our arrival ... even for our wonderful Mama. But after we opened every window, well, then it was bearable.
Now, when it's hot what do you feel like doing ???! Isn't swimming the best way to cool down ?! So we decided to go to Monaco. Sun, sea, sand, yachts, casino and cars ... what more you can ask ?!
Which kind of yachts would you like ?! Hum, we like all of them. The cars are not bad neither ...
We're on the way to the palace ... from there we have a great view over the Monaco bay. And tonight, what a chance ! it's the final of the international musical fireworks competion in Monaco. We didn't know ... what a great surprise ! Look, even in in the news of today they spoke about it !!! And for more information, click here ! This year the "Jacques Couturier Organisation society" (France) won the competition ... and that's the one we saw !!!! On rentre ! Les vacances ont été superbes ! We're going back! It was great holidays!
Et demain, c'est la rentrée de Miss Maayan au CP !! Tout est prêt pour le grand jour !

Ông Câu Phong nous a dit que c'est très joli à Saint Raphaël. Alors, ce matin à 10h00, on est allé le chercher à Théoule-sur-Mer et puis direction : Saint Raphaël ! Avant d'arriver à Saint Raphaël, on a fait halte à Agay. Ông Câu Phong voulait nous montrer son autre appart... et nous, on était très curieux de le voir. Chouette !
Ông Câu Phong told us, that's very nice at Saint Raphaël. Well, this morning, at 10am, we went to fetch him at Théoule-sur-Mer and then, direction : Saint Raphaël! But before arriving in Saint Raphaël, we made a stop in Agay, where Ông Câu Phong wanted to show us his other appartment and we were very curious, too, to see it. Nice!
Puis, à Saint Raphaël, Ông Câu Phong nous a invité à la pizzeria le midi et nous,on l'invitait pour le dessert : une énorme boule de glace café avec de la chantilly offerte par la vendeuse ! Succulent !
Then, in Saint Raphaël, he invited us in a pizzeria for lunch and we him for the dessert: a huge coffee-icecream with whipped cream, generously offered by the seller. Delicious!
Après, visite culturelle de la ville médiévale de Fréjus, qui se trouve juste à côté de Saint Raphaël : le cloître de la cathédrale, l'amphithéâtre... super intéressant (notre guide-conférencière était passionnée !)
After that, we went to visit the medieval city of Fréjus, which is just right beside Saint Raphaël: the cloister of the cathedral, the amphitheatre... very interesting (our guide was very passionated!)
Le soir, on ramenait Ông Câu Phong et lui disait, snif... "Au revoir... et à bientôt à Paris". Ah, c'était encore une très belle journée !
In the evening, we took Ông Câu Phong back to his home and said, snif, "good-bye, see you soon, in Paris". Ah, it was again, a very nice day!
